Fact Check: People Did NOT Attend Influencer Demonstration To See Azahriah Playing Live Wasn't Planned

Did people attend a demonstration against child abuse on February 16, 2024, in Budapest to see Azahriah, a popular Hungarian singer, playing live? No, that's not true: It was made clear in the Facebook event page for the demonstration that Azahriah would not appear at the rally.

The claim appeared in a video (archived here) on TikTok on February 17, 2024, under the title (translated from Hungarian to English by Lead Stories staff) "He won't fail today either." It said:

... Azahriah didn't give a concert, however many people attended for that. ...

People did not attend the demonstration for a concert by Azahriah as it was made clear in the official Facebook event (archived here) that he wouldn't physically be there; he would just check in. His video message was displayed for protesters.

Social media influencers called for a protest on February 16, 2024, in Budapest to protest against child abuse. Hungarian President Katalin Novák resigned (archived here) in early February after the press found out she had granted a pardon (archived here) to an orphanage teacher who was convicted of covering up for his pedophile boss.

Attila Baukó, known as Azahriah (archived here), is one of the most popular young Hungarian singers. The 22-year-old hip-hop artist will have three shows (archived here) in May 2024 in Puskas Arena, the largest venue in Hungary, that are expected to sell out. He is one of the influencers who called for the protest on February 16, 2024.

According to the organizer (archived here), Edina Pottyondy, a vlogger, about 150,000 people joined the demonstration.
